Over 90,000 Christians respond to prayer call

KUALA LUMPUR: More than 90,000 Christians have responded to the call to pray for Malaysia during the run-up to National Day celebrations that will culminate in a prayer rally at Wisma MCA here on Sunday.

Christians, many of whom have been observing 40 days of prayer and fasting since July 22, will gather at Wisma MCA in Jalan Ampang for the prayer rally from 4pm to 7pm.

Similar rallies will also be convened in more than 25 towns across the nation as Christians give thanks to God for seeing Malaysia through difficult times. One of the points Christians have also been praying for is a reduction in crime so that people can move about freely and without fear.

The rally is organised by the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship Malaysia.

During the 40 days, churches are also holding continuous prayer sessions for Malaysia round the clock. In addition, the organiser will donate money saved from meals in the fasting to charity.

For more information, call the organiser at 603-7727 8227 or visit www.necf.org.my.
