Once a month, business tycoon Tan Sri Dr Khoo Kay Peng returns to Malaysia for a week to attend to his business affairs. During the rest of the month, he is either in Australia, where his family is stationed, or other parts of the world. So, when he attended the week-long WEF General Assembly conference from beginning to end, many people were surprised by his willingness to devote his precious time to a Christian conference.
Throughout the conference, he punctually turned up at the J.W. Marriott hotel for the morning sessions, then rushed back to his office at mid-day and dutifully re-appeared at Wisma MCA for the night meetings. It was also learned that he intentionally arranged his monthly trip back here to coincide with the conference.
The time spent at the conference was worth every minute of his precious time, according to him. “The conference has been a tremendous spiritual blessing to me,” Tan Sri Khoo said. He added that he had gained much from the papers that were presented and the messages delivered at the night meetings. |
