Prayer United: Mobilising Post-GE13 Prayer

Prayer United - Announcement to Churches 13 May 2013

Mobilising Post-GE13 Prayer

We take this opportunity to thank every one for mobilizing prayer and staying faithful in exercising your stewardship in nation building. We witnessed such an outpouring of prayer like never before: so many churches coming together in prayer, "punching holes in the darkness" from all corners of Malaysia; individuals and cell groups banding together in unbroken 24-7 prayer; and friends from beyond our shores too, covering our nation in generous prayer.

Yet, our work is not yet done. It is only but the beginning. Here are the reasons why:

  1. All sorts of maneuvering, protests and politicking are taking place behind the scenes. As we believe that God has sovereign control over the nation, let's continue to ask Him to so order the events of this country so that His redemption and blessing will come fully upon Malaysia;
  2. Pray that the church be an agent of peace and reconciliation, and play the role of being the conscience of the nation, highlighting issues of righteousness and justice. Pray that the church remains united, and be protected and strengthened to continue to expand its witness for Christ;
  3. Continue to pray that there will be peace in our land, and that genuine national reconciliation will indeed be everyone's goal.

In the run up to the close of the Jubilee year, let us pray over the preparations and the readiness of the church to embrace a new season of 'rebirth and renewal'.

As this year is a year of spiritual reset, the choices we make today will impact the nation's course and our children's future over the next forty-nine years. Let us seek God's favor, and continue to pray without ceasing.
