Deepest Condolences to those Connected or Associated with the Victims of MH17

The event surrounding the loss of MH17 is most disturbing and unsettling given that the plane was shot down in an unprecedented move that could only be regarded as an act of terrorism. Innocent lives were lost in this senseless and despicable act of aggression.

In these times of sorrow and grief, NECF Malaysia would wish to extend to all those who are connected and associated with the victims of the ill fated flight our deepest condolences. We despair with those who despair and grieve with those who grieve.

In times such as these, there is much good works to be done and this is the opportune time for extending love and support to those of our fellow Malaysians who are in dire need.

We are mindful that this incident also calls for national reflection. Our annual 40 days fast is round the corner, and it is fitting that we begin to "search our hearts", and invite our good Lord to rebuild and restore the nation, as we the Church repent corporately of all unrighteousness, injustice and neglect of the poor and needy in our land.

Meanwhile let us be unafraid to support our national carrier, MAS, and pray for our government in her quest for the speedy return of our fellow Malaysians on MH17.

May our Lord have mercy on Malaysia, and bless the land.

Rev Dr Eu Hong Seng
Chairman
