Prayer Alert

November 2009

"I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please". - Isa 46:10

MALAYSIA DAY JOY!

  • Thank the Lord for the inauguration of MALAYSIA DAY, that together with our brethren in Sabah & Sarawak, we can all CELEBRATE as ONE UNITED NATION!
  • Claim Isaiah 45:2-3 and intercede that the Lord will use the PM during his term to break down doors that have obstructed justice, righteousness & transparency; the bars of bureaucracy, corruption, injustice, laws against religious freedom....etc. Pray that His plan and purposes will be fulfilled in our nation.
  • Decree OPEN DOORS for the release of His Kingdom's purposes to be fulfilled. Pray for ministries and agencies to support the PM’s mission of creating an honest and upright society.

More than 15,000 Bibles in Bahasa Indonesia have been detained this past year!

On Sept 11, 2009, Gideons International's consignment of 5,000 Indonesia Testaments and 5,000 Indonesia/English Bilingual Testaments that Alpha Publisher sent from Jakarta to Kuching were detained by the Malaysian Home Affairs Ministry.

Earlier in March this year, 5,100 Bibles in Bahasa Indonesia ordered by the Bible Society of Malaysia were also detained by the same ministry. The Bibles were detained because they contain the banned word Allah. Pray:

  • for divine intervention from the Lord for the release of the Alkitab. Pray against all attempts that seek to exploit this issue / situation.
  • that this long-standing issue will be resolved as CFM appeals to our PM for a fair and equitable outcome that will reflect 1Malaysia; to respect the freedom of religion and the expression of all people groups.
  • for the Home Minister, Hishamuddin, that he will be clear minded, decisive and make a bold move to release the Bibles.

PRAYER FOCUS FOR NOVEMBER PERSECUTED CHURCH

"Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering." - Hebrews 13:3

They suffer extreme physical torture, spirit-draining psychological abuse and the unspeakable pain of separation from family members. Yet the most common request of persecuted Christians is simply for our prayers. Today, literally millions face persecution. The best way to stand up for these brothers and sisters is to kneel alongside them and pray. It's time to renew our vision and reinvigorate our prayers!

  • Pray the persecuted Christians will remain faithful and strong in their faith and filled with His joy when undergoing physical abuse / mental distress. They will find the grace to forgive their persecutors and those who betrayed them.
  • Ask God to strengthen their wives / children / loved ones – spiritually, physically and emotionally. Pray for His provision, comfort and confidence that "……in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him". (Rom 8:28)
  • Pray for an end to the suppressive, subversive, and oppressive schemes against believers by those in authority in restricted countries. Implore the Lord for radical conversions of those who oppose the Gospel. Read and pray through Acts 9.

RADIO BROADCAST in restricted countries: hundreds of thousands of conversions as a result of the power of the Gospel transmitted through the airwaves. Pray for:

  • Funding for these transmitters, and development of relevant programs that are culturally sensitive to the target people.
  • Workers who follow up thousands who have responded. New believers to be linked up with existing groups to be discipled.
