CFM CONGRATULATES THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH ON THE ELECTION OF HIS HOLINESS POPE LEO XIV
The Christian Federation of Malaysia extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Roman Catholic Church and to Robert Francis Cardinal Prevost on his election as the 267th Bishop of Rome, taking the name His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
His election comes at a time when the world faces profound challenges - from rising geopolitical tensions and environmental crises to economic uncertainty, technological disruption, and social unrest.
We pray that the Pope will be a steadfast beacon of hope, compassion, and moral clarity in these turbulent times, and that he will continue to offer spiritual leadership marked by humility, wisdom, and a deep commitment to justice and peace.
At a time when inter-religious tensions continue to strain societies and when greater understanding between Christian denominations is ever more vital, we trust that Pope Leo XIV will also strengthen efforts toward unity through interfaith engagement and ecumenical dialogue. May his ministry inspire reconciliation, mutual respect, and collaboration among people of all faiths.
As he begins this sacred ministry, we offer our prayers for strength, discernment, and grace to accompany him in his papal ministry and service to humanity.
